Accommodation and Events
The Vale is operating as a farm-stay, self-catering accommodation provider.
Come and enjoy the wonderful environment in our valley, in the shadow of Mount Roland.
Watch platypus playing in the Dasher River. Hike up Mount Roland or visit Cradle Mountain.
If you’re fortunate, you might even catch the Aurora Australis in our endless dark skies at night.
We currently have three accommodation options:
- “Oak Cabin’: 1 Bedroom cabin (king bed)
- “Riverside Guest House”: 2 Bedroom Guest House (1 x double / 1 x twin)
- “Eagles Rock”, a family-friendly six bedroom house (accommodates up to 9 guests)
Note: We have a strict ‘No Party’ policy that applies to all of our accommodation
We also have another wonderful 3 bedroom house, the “Riverside” Main House, that will become available later. We aren’t yet taking bookings for this, but we expect to do so from early 2026.
Accommodation rates are available on request.
Drive in to stay with us – we are ten minutes west of Sheffield, mid way between Devonport and Cradle Mountain.
If you have your own plane, or if you are undertaking an aerial safari with a tourism operator, you have the option to fly directly in to our 1300m grass runway to stay with us.
(In inclement weather, we can come and pick you up from Devonport Airport instead)
Our availability is currently a little variable, while we finish some significant on-site building projects, but please do get in touch if you’d like to ask about staying with us!
Events
We are gearing up to be an events venue, but this capability is a bit of a ‘work in progress’ right now.
We do work with Artaud and Co for weddings and high end events management already, however – and in this operating mode they manage all the details.
We can host some other event types in the meantime (especially outdoors), but we are not yet properly set up for for indoor events unless you have a professional event manager as a part of the process.

Our facilities include gorgeous gardens, a rustic bar with fireplace, large outdoor deck and BBQ facilities and a cool-room.
We have uninterruptible power from our large on-site microgrid, powering all buildings and our on-site electric vehicle chargers.
We have very high speed internet with site-wide indoor and outdoor WiFi.
For fly-in visitors, we have an FBO including kitchenette/servery, lounge and lavatory facilities and an outdoor event space, all with great views.
